Got this pair of Apisto for my pal at NKS.

The fish should be norberti but i am not too sure. Even the female i am not sure which breed it is. Old timers, please help to ID.

Fish fins is torn but I am sure it can be nurtured back.

    Re: Apisto ID

Apistogramma cacatuoides or some species affiliated to that complex. Possibly the black chin. Definitely not Ap.
norberti. Female looks like a black chin too.

Lets look at some mirror/flaring shots when the fish is settled down... amazing dorsal membrane for the adult male.

    Re: Apisto ID

Thanks genes for the link. Can most certainly say the male is black chin because the lower finnage looks exactly like the one you shown in the link which is not my shown in the picture.

    Re: Apisto ID

    Should be the black chin.
Noberti very chunky type of fish.
    My favourite type.
    Very Unique character too..

    Why never get the Baenschi?
Should be nicer right unless very small size.

Same fish was once sold in C328 as sp. "Fanta" or something like that. It is the Black-Chin, at least for the male.
