My last shot for year 2009! A fish that i thought was an apisto when i first started venturing into apistogrammas.

    Happy new 2010 everyone!

What fish ah? Microctenapoma ansorgii? Got them from a LFS in Toa Payoh weeks ago. Saw a piece just now at C328.

These guys are fin nibblers. Chomp off of some of justin's copella's tail.

These are quite nice. I had two pairs and they did OK in a mixed community with larger fish but would quickly devour smaller fish. I passed them onto a friend who quickly got them to spawn in a tank full of Java moss and fern and where there was virtually zero surface disturbance. These fish can look far more spectacular than in the above picture. If you can get these then get them! They won't disappoint.

When they do their territorial flare. The bars on the body becomes as dark as their fins. Thats where you see the full colors on these fishes.

They look super drab in the bags at the LFS. Your picture did them justice Eugene.

I don't think any importer has ever brought in the other Microctenopoma species have they?
