New guy interested in Vivariums

Hi all, heard about this site from my friend. My name is Wadi and i would love to set up my own vivarium. my current tank dont have much plants but there are rocks, sand, drift wood and water for my rainbow crab and two small black crab with red pincers (not sure if its a vampire crab). Anyone willing to give me some tips?

Hi Wadi! First off, welcome to AQ (Aquatic Quotient)

Perhaps you could start a thread on your tank in the Vivarium section and post some pictures if possible, easier for us to admire and critic(if you don't mind) your setup

Oh by the way, try not to keep crabs of different species together as they come from different regions and might have different requirements... and they'll most likely fight for space and you might end up with dead crabs...

Of course some of us (like me) have mixed experiences with crabs... I do have a 2ft tank of different Vampire crab species kept together and so far so good... but I've another tank of vampire crab of same specie giving me dead crabs (most likely due to male dominance?)

Hey thanks buddy for the reply! Yeah i heard abt its bad mixing with different species. so far so good, maybe because there is plenty of room for the smaller crabs to hide and run away. and i will post pictures of my tank soon. hehehe. do you have any recommendations of pet shops that sells many range of plants and crabs/crayfish/frogs/salamanders? the only one i know is at clementi..

Well you can try Yishun Blk 618, Aquastar at Yishun Central or Seaview at Seletar Farmway... however the only legal "Exotic" frogs we're allow to keep is the Green Treefrog aka White's treefrog... and salamanders are illegal
