Do you prefer tanks with built in side filter compartments or not?
any pros and cons of having one?

-for me i prefer using a bare tank with an external canister filter.
For the experts here what's your view?

Bare tank for me. The side filter compartment is an eyesore.

I will prefer a bare tank. It is quite unsightly to see all the filter media by the side.

Bare for me, with my own choice of filter device.

Bare tank definitely haha ~ Unless you really have no space for other filter options then those tanks with in-built filter compartments .... That would be a last resort for me though haha ... The filter compartment takes up some space in the tank as well.

    Cheers

Currently own a tank with internal filter. If going planted, definitely go for bare tank. If just keeping fishes and want a all in one (lights, filter) with minimal wirings and neat, then one with internal filter.
