Hi. There are some dust like powder on the leaves of my non co2 tank. My lighting is about 1.22WPG T5 lights. Noticed them today. My tank is only 10 days old. When I gently run 2 fingers over the leaves they come off easily just like powder. Is it because there is too much light? Please help. This is my first tank and its a four footer.

Yes. I was dosing Excel for a week. And the first batch of the vals actually melted so I removed them and replanted new ones and did a 50% water change.

Also on Sunday morning (28/3/10) I dosed Dry fert diluted aquarium water(KNO3 and KH2PO4) then on Monday morning (29/3/10) I dosed Seachem Equilibrium. I noticed these podery substsnces on Tuesday!!! Also there are hard table salt like crystals that are formed on the rocks. Could it be the crystalization of macro and micro fertilizer?? Or is it an algae
