Sheng Song selling live sharks

I was pretty surprised to read in the papers yesterday that they were selling live Nurse Sharks too.

Anyone have a 12ft tank to raise these in?

Ah!! Must be the teochews!! Back in the old old days in China...they were so poor and they will eat everything from the sea. Fishes include sharks. God bless the teochews who is well known for steamed pomfret, braised duck, png kway, ..these are delicacy. OPS! Off topic..

Chinese believe eating shark meat for its deworming properties, but that doesn't mean it is right to sell live sharks. Numbers of various shark species have dropped drastically because of the Shark Fins trade and the reproduction rate cannot compensate for the losses, the poor bugger should be given a chance in the great ocean then on our dinner plate.

We only have to blame ourselves and every effort to avoid such situation should be a part of our life. I'm not a saint myself, because I do consume shark meat, shark fin maybe once a year? but I do avoid having shark fins if possible.
