Elatine need a fair bit of K and N. If you are not dosing these, they may be the reason.

hi bc, i tot dosing wit liquid fert will do e job??
cuz i was told that dosing wit normal liquid fert bought at lfs will do.

TBI, maybe you can share with us what you are dosing at the moment. We will see what is lacking.

Most commercial liquid ferts are just traces as they do not contain Nitrate or phosphate although some might include nitrate or potassium..(Example Dr Mallick Lushgro Aqua).

dosing e liquid fert bought from nature.... think is a european brand. not too sure about it. think will go down ltr to check wit mr chan.

peter what do u think i should do about it????
think maybe is the fert.

Chan sells Sera Florena and Seachem Flourish and maybe JBL.
These do not provide enough K.
You can dose Seachem Flourish Potassium for K. Expenisive though. Alternative is K2SO4 from Dr. Mallick's.

TBI, keep your pH between 6.8-7 during the lights on period for a KH of 7 or 6.7-6.9 for a KH of 6 before embarking on dosing N,P,K and traces. (The CO2 needs to be stable before fertilization can do its work).
Since you have traces already...try to get potassium nitrate, potassium sulphate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate from Dr Mallick. After that, you can do testing for Nitrate and phosphate and then dose as necessary (I do have problems with phosphate test kits as they never give me proper readings...plus the fact that organic phosphate cannot be used by plants further complicates testing...you don't know whether you are reading the organic one or inorganic one...LOL.) or go about doing 50% water change and then dosing a known concentration to a fix volume of tank water.

E. triandra requires a fair bit of nitrates, IME, but yes, make sure your lighting and CO2 is sufficient as well.
How old is the tank? How was the tank before the this recent turn? How big is the tank?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

my tank is a 2x1.5x1.5
2x36w pl
jbl fert and lapis sand
1bps
tank is only about three months old.
actually i got this fren of mine plant elatine without dosing liquid fert and e plant also grow like nobody business leh......why?????
wat is the best KH to maintain anyway??

Lighting and CO2 looks good to me. Check and see what is lacking with a test kits. If NO3 and PO4 are high, chances are K is insufficient. Try to keep NO3 at 10~20ppm and PO4 at 0.5~1ppm. If you need to dose K, do about 20ppm/week.

Okay...plants do store nutrients for bad times ahead which is why it is still growing strongly in your tank initially. By now, I think your plants are probably stunt due to lack of N,P,K or traces..Dose them accordingly and give them 3-4weeks to bounce back..be patient.
