are you having a planted tank?
10000k lights are not recommended for planted tanks. these lights are meant for marine tanks. go for 6500k lights.

hi all,
Does ocean free has a website?? Is it possible to change the bulb from 10k to 6500k using the same ballast??
there shouldn't be problem when you change the bulb from 10000k to 6500k. just make sure that the bulb wattage rating remains the same or lower.----------------

10000k/6500k refer to the colour temperature of the bulb. 6500k is close to natural daylight while 10000k is more bluish.
the other rating is power, which is given in watts.

hi,
Has anyone tried 10k before? How is the outcome for the plants??
As far as i know OC only has 10k n 20k, just wondering is 10k suitable enough for plants??
SAme question. Will the higher light spectrum cause harm to plants or fishes?
Bro, No harm done. Just more algae thats all. If you got the monie to change to MH light, then spend a bit more to also change the bulb to 6500K type ...----------------
