how does a full chiller system work?

There can be a very short or very long answer because your question is vague.
-tank water go in chiller
-temperature probe pick up temperature of water going in
-the system cools the water in chiller by compressor ( desire temperature set by user )
-water cools to desired temperature
-cool tank water get out of chiller.

as like the full system .like is there any need for like a pump or anything?does it connect to the filter?
