Hailea 300a shoulde be ok but what temperature are you looking at?
It is not that noisy but preferably not kept in your bedroom.
Hi guys
I will be setting up a planted tank soon. My tank size should be between 3 or 4ft tank size holding water about 195l -260L & i also intend to include a chiller for my setup..Currently lokking at Hailea HC 300A(1/4hp) connect to a external filter @ 1200L/hrs turm over rate...
So i was wondering whether this combo will effectively cool my tank efficiently base on 25-26degree...
Any bro have any experience on using hailea chiller & is it noisy during kick in...
cheers

You have to take note of your lighting too as what you use will add heat to the water as well. Get a chiller 1 model above what you require reason being our country do have months where the weather temperature is above 32 degree and having a chiller that is just nice for your tank might cause the chiller to get over worked when the weather gets really hot. Also try to have a chiller that has an external temperature probe as this is a more accurate measure of water temperature in your tank. An internal temperature probe only measure the water in the chiller water compartment so the water in that compartment will be cooler than the tank water temperature and this will cause a premature power cut-off of the chiller and the chiller will turn back on again a few minute later when the water temperature in the chiller compartment is raised as water is being replaced by the pump.
