I saw this substrate that I am really curious whether can I grow plants in it. Is aroun-3mm size, but it contains some particles of crushed shells. Will this substrate affect the PH or GH level? Can I grow plants in this substrate? Thinking of placing some root tablets and grow plants.

If I didnt remember wrongly, crushed shells buffers the PH just like coral chips. I guess it would be bad for plants as their roots will not be able to hold on.

Yup- KH and GH would be raised slightly due to the calcium carbonate. If it's only a little, it should be fine once the plants adapt. The shells would dissolve in time with CO2 injected and WC.
