Have you found it? This is not a popular fish among aquascapers. They grow big like the length of a sword tail fish. I've first seen this in Nam Hong Aquarium 10 years ago. I heard they are caught in our reservoirs.
Hi. Anyone saw this fish in our LFS? Thanks!

Oh Nam Hong, i used to stay nearby there for 20+ year, visit often there also but didnt notice on that fish. Didnt know they are from our reservoir. Thanks for the info. Already bought other fish instead for my new setup.

they are found in Malaysian streams, not sure about indonesian's ones though.
caught 1 myself, really very nice, one of my favourite rasbora.

Hypancistrus and Tanganyikan cichlids breeding

I have 5 pieces in my setup. I used to have the local ones but I think the local ones are elegans. The local ones don't have the red hues but size and pattern wise quite similar.
Any photo to share will be good. Are they good schooling fish also?

Wonderful schooling fishes!! you don't even have to herd them.. they school naturally. I HAD 20++ pieces in a 3 ft but i went away for a while and they all got some weird disease and got wiped out!! One of my saddest moments as they were wonderful wonderful fish.. would start another 25 pieces in an instant if i could find them again.
Looks like they're gone for good, such a wonderful schooling fish. Malaysia stream should have them.

And rightfully they should stay in the stream.
More pretty there.
But I might think they are sword tail if I see them from the top... and in the stream.![]()
