I'm kai32117 from daytona beach. I have my first large fish tank after having a 10 gal for 8 years, Love it, it's beautiful, a 55 gal. Here's sometihing I do not understand. I haven't added anything to the tank in 8 months, other than water and food of course. I turned on the light the other day the tank is full of tiny snails, where in the world did they come from and how do I get rid of them? Any ideas, especially of where they came from, that baffles me and scares me (the water) to no end. Thank you and wonderful to be a member, I know I will gain a lot of knowledge here.

    Re: Hello

welcome to the forum kai. you can rid the snails in a number of ways, mainly by introducing their predators. I got rid of mine with "assasin snails" (anentome helena). Do take note that these each all other snails, so don't introduce them into your tank unless they are the only snails you want to have in your tank!
