    Hi
where can i find APP and C. Parva?
Went to a few lfs and they do not have them.
Can i grow them without base fert?
Just add a few root masters?

    or water column fertilization?
I searched a few sites and they say that this plant(APP) is not very fast growing.
Is it true? How fast growing is it compared to other forground plants( glosso,e tenellus etc)?

    Thanks!

APP is also known as Elatine triandra. this website (www.e-aquaria.com) has a nice little write-up in it. Bioplast (System Control & Engineering) has it. C. parva I last saw at PLantas Aquaticas (76 Horne Rd). APP needs rich fert (meaning NPK plus micros), very bright light and ample CO2.... C. parva is fairly undemanding but very slow-growing.

Please have a look in the Aquatic FAQ threads and past threads in the planted forum for more information on things like fertilisation and plant care.

    Thanks!

I have been looking in this site over and over agin for the past 2 weeks![]
Think the search function is down though...making my searching of different topics tedious!

    Thanks!

I will not recommend you to grow C. parva without base fert. Crypts prefer fertile substrate. Root monsters and horti/jobe sticks may work if you are talking about bigger crypts but it will be a nightmare trying to put something beside each and every C. parva rhizome. There is also the danger of nutrients leeching into your water column if you failed to plunge them deep enough.

    Cryptocoryne parva....

I give up on this plant. Slllooowwww growing. But the idea of a Cryptocoryne parva lawn is so tempting.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

yupz, extremely slow growing, if you want a lawn, it will take probably a year atthe least, even with rich base fert. if you do not control well, algae will grow on it in the meantime and it wouldn't look too nice.

APP, might want to reconsider if you are not into high maintenance. like glosso, the bottom layer tends to rot. in fact, some find it more troublesome then glosso. so you have to decide whether you still want it!

You probably can also get it at Pasir Fish Farm, L33 (Ah Pek's farm).
I got mine from there, but availability depends on stock.
    Good luck searching!
