Base Fert questions

Can members let meknow what are the different base ferts available and the costs....also any recommended brands ??? I am going shopping for base fert and gravel soon.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

to make it short, can i just recommend JBL base fert as a cheap and very effective all-round product? About $16-18 a bag (enough for a 2 ft tank). And cover it with normal Lonestar gravel. Ask at Nature Aquarium (see lfs list) for more details and selection.

Actually also depends on your budget. You can dig for them free on the ground to spending a few tens of dollars for commercial packs.
Most of us have tried JBL (can get from Nature Aquarium or Gan's) and find it quite reasonable and good. Price around $15-$20 for a 5kg pack. There are others but I have not tried before.
