Hi guy, today I went to one of the LFS in serangoon north and bought a bottle of Flourish from seachem. The label was bit different but the autie said it was old packing.

I purposed to buy fertilizer but when I got home, I found that there is another line belows Flourish that said " Water Conditioner for the Natural Aquarium". So is this a fertilizer or water conditioner? When I checked on the Seachem site, there is only fertilizer under "Flourish" name, no conditioner. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Thank

PS: my understanding for conditioner is something likes anti-chlorine or anti- ammonia etc.

Seachem labelled it as water conditioner to avoid US laws about fertilisers. If I remember correctly, it something about listing the ingredients.

By all other definitions, it is still a fertiliser.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Saw the following lines on the the other side of the bottle "Flourish is a non-fertilizer water conditioner" and there is no desciption of the content, making me more confused. Anyway, returned the bottle back to the LFS and wait for new Flourish shipment to arrive next week.

BTW, Seachem offers a large range of flourish product. Beside flourish, there is flourish excel, trace, potassium, iron and so on. How shall I know what to dose into my tank? Doesn't flourish along provide a complete coverage for a planted tank? Can anyone kindly tell me what is the correct conbination dosage for seachem product?

Sorry, this is the first time I go into commerical fertilizer for planted tank. All the while i am been using fertilzer from Jason in Nature Aquarium.

    Thank

Go to the Seachem website. They have all the information there including the contents of each fertilisers and dosing recommendation.

In the FAQ section you can find the information about the label change:
Q: Why did you change the product?
A: We didn’t change the product at all, only the label. This was a result of ill defined state fertilizer laws which make it impossible for us to sell the product with the older, more descriptive label. These laws do not consider aquaculture fertilization parameters and therefore left us with the choice of either bottling 10/10/10 or changing our labels such that no fertilization claims were made. These laws have been recently changed at the federal level, so hopefully in the not too distant future, the consumer will not have to guess at what certain products do because of overly restrictive government regulation.

Look through the site. If you still have any more doubts, you can post again.
