    Hi,

Need to ask how tall this plant grows. The Tropica site states 10-20cm, but have seen other sites with differing heights. I'm planning to use it as midground, right in front of the bare-looking bottom part of my Ludwigias.

Also, where can I find it?

    Thanks in advance.

It can grow to 2 feet and over and the stem can be as thick as a chopstick. You can find it at Teos, Bioplast and Keong Siong.

E.stellata can grow tall. They also tend to loose leaves at the bottom.
Can try Blyxa japonica or Lobelia cardinalis as a midground plant. Or if you don't mind frequent pruning, then try E.quadricostatus.
Try the plant search engine http://www.disky-design.dk/fish/Plan...antSearch.html.

    E. Stellata should not be used as a mid-ground plant. They will grow as much as the height of your tank allows. Once it reaches the surface, the stalk will arch forward, shading quite a bit of your other shorter plants.

Pruning will also encourage a bushier crown
Such effects can be something desired or unwanted. Depends on you bro.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. Since E. stellata will lose leaves at the bottom, then no point. I'll surf around for other midground plants. Need a short bushy stem plant with darker leaves that's easy to prune. Currently using HM, but the colour is too bright and draws attention away from the rest to the plants on the same level. Already have a lot of grass-like plants, so trying to avoid more.

I am using lobelia cardinalis, HMs and eriocaulaceae sp as mid ground.

    Cheers

You can try Hygrophila corymbosa "kompakt", aka Hygrophila corymbosa "compact". Sometimes corymbosa is left out of the name.

    Also Hottonia palustaris.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

Vincent, that's another good plant to try. Unlike other Hygrophilas, this one really stays low. I had one planted in August. Still not much taller than when first planted.

It is available at Teo's Plant Farm.

Thanks Vinz, it looks really nice. I'll keep a lookout for it. No time to go to Teo's this week.
