What shrimps are you intend to keep?
For newbie, i recommand cherry shrimps. And its better to start with at least a 2 feet tank for better water parameter control.

Yes, will start off with cherry shrimps. Likes the design of Leo Q550 but not sure is the width too small...
That width is too small. It's basically a slim and tall tank. The more "floor space" you have, the better, because shrimps are generally bottom-dwelling creatures. In such a slim tank, you might have problems doing your scaping, especially if you have a branchy driftwood that has a big footprint.

oh ok, thanks for the advise. like those all-in-one tank which look very neat. any recommendation?
Dymax IQ5 should be perfect, or other similar models. Some of the forumers have done shrimp tanks using the Fluval Edge and similar models. If you get these All-in-1 systems, preferably pick one without a hood because it gets very warm in covered tanks. Bigger bottom area is always a plus since you can have more ideas on how to scape the tank to suit your needs.
