Can but keep like one Yamato for every fifteen other smaller shrimp because their behavior will change when there is a lot of them

I keep 3 yamatos with 20 sakuras cherries including shrimplets. 40 litre tank. Yamatos are 3 times bigger than cherries. No problem so far except they sometimes snatch their food during feeding time. No fighting though. They just grab and swim away

i keep my Yamoto seperately in the breeding box most of the time but will release them now and then to my main tank for cleaning job. But recently not sure if they are too hungry or what, i saw them grabbing one of my BDS. Think they will start to eat other shrimp that is dying or died.

I have try once before with my 8 Crs tank put in 1-3. My CRS when into hiding. Do not buy does adult Yamato buy those smaller type and yes less quantity. Since than I remove all Yamato. They are aggressive, will chase for the food if my crs is eating.

I have 6. From small to big. Let me know if you want. Cheers
Enjoying every mins of the process. Happy Shrimping.

    Re: yamato shirmp

I have 5 Yamato with 5 yellow fire and 10 CRS in a 3 ft tank.

The Yamatos were the initial inhabitants of my tank, followed by the Yellow Fire then the CRS.

When they were introduced to the tank, they were quite wary of the Yamatos. But after some time, they got used to them and now they even share shelter under one DW.

But like what one of the bro mentioned, they tend to snatch food during feeding time. Just make sure the Yamatos can get its own individual share and they will leave the other shrimps alone during feeding time.
