    Problem with ISTA Reactor

I am using a ISTA Min max reactor with eheim canister.
When the power goes off the co2 starts collecting at the top of the reactor, if the power remains off for a longer period, some co2 goes back into canister via outlet pipe.
This creates a airlock in filter and it stops.
Any ideas on how to control this.

Plug the canister power point together with the co2 solenoid. If power is cut off , no co2 is supplied to the reactor.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

    Hi sandeep,

Can move the mix-max reactor to a slightly higher location then the canister. This is assuming your using manual unit, if your on a solenoid you can follow BFG's recommendation or use a timer.
Air (regardless of co2 or o2) floats up.

I am not using a solenoid.

I have tried moving the reactor to a higher location than canister, but it is not helping.
The excess co2 should come out of reactor, even if in bubbles, why is it going back to canister outlet.

For the time being I have disconnected reactor from canister, and I am using a small powerhead to power reactor, but I would have preferred reactor to be powered by canister.

    Thanks for replies.

Sandeep, a picture of how you attached it would greatly help.
The mix-Max units I've seen in action so far have been quite good. (usual complains of the blades not spinning every now and then).

Btw, how come you have power cuts? Urban or rural district? IMHO having solenoid actually quite helpful in the sense helps stop co2 when there is no need for enrichment. (also in that sense delays topup).
