HELP: weird TDS reading

top up 300ml of distilled water to counter evaporation daily

is 220 too high for low grade crs tank?

what is the best way to reduce the tds?

Not weird what. Not surprising when you use a fan to cool. Evaporation eventually will leave the dissolved solids behind.

Think 5% weekly water change will not make any difference.

If your shrimp are happy then leave them be. Don't mess with it.

Did you measure the GH as well?

after few months of monitoring, i notice only 5-8 shrimplet turn to adult
and most adult survived less than a year
dont think my shrimps are really happy

no3 <5, temp 25-26, ph 6.0-6.1

In that case then better do something. With all that evaporation I suspect the GH might be quite high. If so large water changes with distilled water will bring it down.

Get the SERA one, it's easier to see.

TDS of 220 is still acceptable. My guess is your GH should be about 5-6, better test with test kit to confirm.
To bring down GH and TDS, mix distilled with tap water for aging then do water change along with your topping up of distilled water.

I have helped a friend to test his parameters after he told me keep having deaths and no berried shrimps, TDS 650, GH over 15 (15 drops of test liquid and still never change color)
He using a fan and he top up with tap water and add Mosura mineral plus!

That is indeed high gh but I had a friend that have even higher 700 plus liquid rock man he keep some colour less shrimps inside with a big piece of coral XD

Those color shrimps are hardy indeed.

Back to the topic, your readings are quite expected.
5% water change is too little to counteract the TDS increase from the evaporating waters and from food and waste. Aim for 15%.

What other stuff are you dosing?

daily, top up 300ml of distilled water
weekly, 5% water change with tap water plus api stress coat(anti chlorine)
feed mosura excel every other day

not dosing any other stuff
