I though BGA is black and slightly furry?
Correct me if i am wrong.
Thks.

I think that's BBA, black beard algae. BGA is a cyanobacteria I think, smelly and grows in sheets. I think BGA also secrete toxins so no algae eater will eat it.

I don't think they are smelly. When you pull them up, it's light running nose kind of thing...you know what I mean.
Crandf is right in the sense that none of my fishes seem to be interested in it and they spread very fast.
Any countermeasure?

You might want to provide folks some info on your tank before they can troubleshoot what really happen in there. Personally, unless it is BBA, a blackout of 3-5 days should get rid of the algae if you do it correctly. After that, it is up to you do whip the tank back into shape and get the plants growing well. If plants don't grow well, algae will.
