    hello bros,

i am going to setup a planted tank. and will like to start with low light low tech plants. as i will be using only a low powered led light.

i researched and found that the following is suitable for low light low tech setup.

    1)java fern
    2)java moss
    3) Anubias

i will like to have a low light red color plant. can recommend any?
i also like to have some tall background low light plants. can recommend any?
do i need to use black shrimp soil or just normal black sand/gravel will do?
i will like the PH to be 6.8 to 7.

    thanks

Plastic plants. Seriously any red plant will turn green when not enough light.

    Re: low light plants?

    hello bros,

    thanks for advice
i am currently clearing my 4ft 67 gallon tank of my old fish stock.
once cleared. i will start a planted natural setup tank. powered by 1 low power LED light and 2 air-driven sponge filter.

    1) keeping easy beginner low light plants
    - which does not need C02 pump or powerful lights.
    2) keeping easy beginner shrimps - which does not keep chiller eg: RCS, yellow and blue shrimp etc...
    3) keeping some specialized small fish like killifish, small gobies, otos etc...
    4) maybe some good small snails etc ? not too sure about snails.

okie so the java fern and moss do not need soil, so can i just use black gravel/sand?

    thanks bros

i read red java fern is low light. are they really red color?

Yes, you can use just sand if you plant fern anubias and moss special. There are many varieties you can make a combination and create beautiful scape from it. Form java fern alone we have, java fern, narrow leaf java fern, trident java fern, fork java fern, windelov, bolbitis, mini java fern and many others that I never try before.

Let me know if you want me to clear the fish for you... but must give me more discount this time...
