My guess is emerge leaf of Proserpinaca palustris
My guess is emerge leaf of Proserpinaca palustris
Oh, now there's a point of contention, i.e. I would have guessed Limnophila Aromatica
Any idea how to differentiate these 2 species apart?
As I have ordered both Proserpinaca palustris & Limnophila Aromatica before, & Proserpinaca palustris (also known as Mermaid Weed), at least the specimen I received, has leaves that are very serrated, compared to the slightly dentate leaves of the Limnophila Aromatica. & the specimen of Proserpinaca palustris I received, has very brown adult leaves as well as brown but slender stem, while the Limnophila Aromatica I received, grew to have purplish, rose-coloured thick stems.
But you have a point though: if the leaves of the specimen above is either emersed, or very young, then it is possible that it can still be Proserpinaca palustris. Looks like a challenging job for me to ascertain this.
The number of leaf of Limnophila Aromatica at each section is much more, show on the picture below (not my pic, its from google)

@Shadow: you are right; as per this photo (the specimens are in my tank for a couple of weeks already):
The leaf edge of the newer leaves (red selection) are getting extremely jagged, i.e. characteristic of the Mermaid Weed (Proserpinaca palustris).
N.B. note the completely different leaf shapes between the top & bottom leaves (blue selection).
