Beginner's Question: Plant Names

I am fascinated by how you guys can know what type of plants you're talking about when referring to their scientific names.
Until now I still cannot remember which is which, except annubias, where most probably I'll forget how it looks like when I step into a LFS to look for them.

I've been to a few LFS like at Serangoon North, Hougang & pasir ris fishfarms, I don't see any names outside of the plant tanks.

Some times they are already labelled on their containers so it helps. Just get exposed to more of such naming conventions and you should do fine, else you can always buy the aquarium plant handbook to study
