Do you have an aquarium blog?

If you do, and you would like to get more interaction with aquarium hobbyists (i.e. AQ members), AQ can automatically read your RSS feeds and post your new blog entries as AQ threads. This should encourage more views and interaction. AQ will of course preserve the links back to your blog.

You can control what gets published to AQ by using categories/labels/tags, so no need to worry that non-aquarium related posts gets here.

What are forum subscriptions?

When you are subscribed to a forum, it is added to your list of subscribed forums in your Settings page. You can opt to have notifications emailed to you when new threads are started in those forums, or when threads in those forums have new posts.

How do I subscribe to a forum?

Unlike thread subscriptions, there are no automatic subscriptions to forums. To subscribe to a forum:

View the forum you want to subscribe to.
Click "Forum Tools" in the menu bar just above the forum's thread list. A drop down menu will appear.
Click on "Subscribe to this Forum". A new page will open.
The rest is quite intuitive.

When you subscribe to a forum, you have to choose the notification type, which is explained below.

Notification Types
There are 3 types of email notification in forum subscriptions:

Through my control panel only
Daily updates by email
Weekly updates by email

Through my control panel only
You will not receive any email notifications when new threads or posts are made to the subscribed forum. You will only see the notifications in your Settings page.

Daily updates by email
You will receive a daily email which will list any new threads or posts made to the forum for the day. If no new threads or posts were made for the day, no email will be sent.

Weekly updates by email
You will receive a weekly email which will list any new threads or posts made to the forum for the week. If no new threads or posts were made for the week, no email will be sent.

How do I unsubscribe from a forum?

The steps to unsubscribe from a forum are the same as those for subscribing to a forum. Just select "Unsubscribe from this Forum" in the Forum Tools drop down menu.

How do I manage my thread subscriptions?

Your subscribed forums are listed in your Settings page.

To unsubscribe, click on "Unsubscribe from This Forum" below the title and description of the forum in the list.

At the time of this post, the forum software does not provide any way to change the notification type, nor organise the forum subscriptions like thread subscriptions.
