Mind sharing what have you done or have tried to grow so far?

i grew the UG emersed for 2 months then added water its been 2 weeks it was growing real fine and had to go out for a hole day and turned light co2 off came back next day turned the lights on to see how it was doing and nearly half of the UG is dead and its not dying cause of changing from emersed to submerged that im quite sure and the next 2 day later i turned lights co2 on and went to high school came back and co2 wasnt coming cause the outflow fell off out and more UG turned brown though the Limnophila mini 'vietnam is growing alright
the plants i tried growing are java moss most easiest moss said to be subwassertang HC peacock moss
i can successfully keep fish and shrimps but plants are starting to annoy me
Co2 is very critical point during emersed to sub transition. So in conclusion how many days the co2 was out then? 3 days?
How's your co2 ppm level during the regular day?
This is from co2 perspective, assuming your light and ferf are enough

the co2 was out for a day usually i pump co2 for about 14 hours a day

not sure what ppm is still new to co2 my first pressurized co2 it about 3-5 BPS
Use kh/ph table, for your initial reference.
I may not really accurate, but at least you know the baseline.

Forget about kH/pH table especially if you have something in your tank that causing water parameter change such as ADA soil, coral chip, etc.
For example ADA soil will lower the pH and kH, thus the table will show you have more than enough CO2 even though you did not inject any CO2.

Don't take it too hard. The method you have chosen is not exactly the easiest method to start a tank. It requires much patience, timing and a bit of luck.
14 hours seem to be a long time to keep the CO2 on. You didn't say much about your lights. How many watts do you have?

do you use a timer for the lights and co2?
i can't help but notice your saying you turned on/off.
it sounded really kind of manual on off to me.

Give us more details about your set up,like what kind of soil you use, what filter media?
Lights wattage, liquid or dry fert and so on.....
Hi, you might want to start with plants that are easy to grow first? like crypts, rotala, etc etc. they're also very beautiful plants. me too just like you i've always failed to grow plant even java fern, but i still keep them and love them, things are getting better after i started reading more in depth.so let's be patience, i've seen a bro here grow HC without CO2

lights i have is a up aqua pro led z series light 56watts and an atman light i think 80 watts i also think co2 is quite alot im putting 14 hours a day want to reduce it but if i do UG keeps on dieing its making me frustrated as UG in australia is expensive and quite hard to find

i also use a rena filstar xp2 no dosing of any ferts

soil is second hand its a mix od ada soil aqua soil and theres whit marble stone and some sort of blue blue rock as well mixed

Wow, no wonder you are frustrated. You are really challenging yourself trying to grow plants without adding any ferts and with second hand soil. Not too sure about the water in Australia too, some parts the water is slightly salty to taste I believe.

According to your earlier posts, they were fine while in DSM.
i grew the UG emersed for 2 months then added water its been 2 weeks it was growing real fine and had to go out for a hole day and turned light co2 off came back next day turned the lights
1: the ada soil you had, still have nutrition value. If you dose liquid ferts it would be better as water plants do take in ferts from water as well.
2: i have no clue why when you go out you had to turn off lights and co2
3: milk_vanilla mentioned in post #4, it is crucial during conversation to have your Co2 and light levels optimal and constant during that.
You have some other plant list more easily found in Campbell Town? (I checked Au yellowpages and there seems like a couple of aquatic supplies shops there)
You don't have to break your wallet on your 1st try mate, get easier plants and grow yourself a jungle not a lawn
If you can, fill the below up i have helped you put in what you have mentioned. It will help the other have a better understanding and give you proper advice.
Tank Size: in feet or inches.
Substrate: ADA amazonia 2? , (provide age)
Fertilization: Nil
Lighting: Up aqua pro led z series (follow the link after this, i don't see a 56w unit. Link to EastOceanAquatic )
