Also saw at Nan Yang, that aquarium in yishun
All background is form/ plastic? What the price range? Is there a name for this background?

How to let 3d background sink? Because form is very light

i spam aquarium sillicone on mine, and then let it cure for 48 hours. it's been inside my tank over 5 months already. never even move a single bit.
I can't do it. I got fish inside my tank.

1) drill/dig a lot of holes and use suction cup - not recommended as dirt/small fish can get trapped behind.
2) use aquarium safe super glue (cyanoacrylate), this can be used underwater, but it will mean your 3d background will be permanent on the tank.

Thanks ken. i will use the 1st option. Will check it out at C328.
i'm also using canister, the background is at the back of my tank, the outlet rainbar is at the side.. you intend to place the outlet at the back also?
if you want it at the back.. i suppose you can always cut a groove into your foam background, or cut a segment out the size of your rainbar outlet. I don't know if anyone else got better ideas. Anyway you can buy those styrofoam cutter at popular, or heat a penknife and slice it. I personally did the heating penknife part to cut my background for my tank size.
I plan to put inlet at the back of the background. But i need to drill the background? erm is there any other material instead of form? if form i afraid it will float.
Hi Gary, since it is only a 2 feet tank, maybe you can consider removing all the fishes, plants and gravel/soil so that you can put the background foam in properly. Just make sure you keep them in your existing tank water and transfer the filter to the temporary holding pail or tank.
If your background foam is slightly bigger or fit tightly to the sides of the tank, then it will help to keep it in place. You can also use the gravel, rocks and woods to help put pressure on it too.
Which LFS has more design(3D background)?

There are fiberglass 3D backgrounds but not easy to find nowadays. I've seen standard black foam backgrounds at C328 but not sure of their range. Your best bet is to go down and check it out personally if you have the time. Often, people just DIY their own backgrounds. There is a "Rock Background" by Exo-Terra, meant for vivarium/terrarium use but it should be safe for aquariums.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Maybe you could try Aqua Empire at Pasir Ris Farmway 2, right next to Ecrisson Pet Farm. They got lots of nice 3D backgrounds there, including one of tree roots.
I still got 1 issue. I don't know where to place my canister in and outlet. I worry a lot of fish waste stuck behind 3D background too

How about you try fixing the background a few inches from the back of the tank, drilling a few holes through and then silicone a plastic mesh to allow flow behind the background.
Then you put your canister inlet and outlet there? You can also use that corner to put your airstone, heater or whatever?
