Currently I'm using a Gex S tank (The plastic tank).
I thinking of switching to a 1ft or 1.5ft Glass tank.
    2 questions.
    1. What are the advantages (if any) of using a glass tank over plastic tank.
    2. What are the steps needed to transfer all my water, plants and fishes and shrimps to new tank? Is it the following?
    - Drain out as much water as possible to a empty bucket.
    - Take out my plant and fish out all my fishes and shrimps into the bucket of old tank water.
    - Transfer my substrate to my new tank
    - Fill up the half the tank with my old tank water
    - Let my old filter run in the new tank for about 30mins
    - Fill up the rest of the tank and put back my plants and fauna into my new tank
Do i have to cycle my new tank again or is the above steps correct? Since basically all the water, filter media and stuff all are old, meaning its cycled.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

I never do this such migration, but if i were you,if possible, i rather build the new tank in parallel and move the flora and fauna once it's fully cycled / half cycle at least.

You are avoiding a lot of uncertainty risks.

plastic and glass material? Less Scratch and clarity gain.
