    ok.
    cheap way - do what i suggested and use sticks that can span you tanks width/length.
    more expensive - get a fan that has clips. nature aquarium should have.

    There is an ISTA brand clip, but I was told by an LFS that the distributor is not bringing it in anymore.

    can i use normal clip that can be bought from bookshops? and How do i connect the clip to the fan??

    Well...you can try..
    go Arofanatics and search for fans or diy fans and look at their galleries. They have some very excellent ideas regarding how to secure the fan using readily available materials.

    There's no hard n fast rule on suring a DIY fan.. as the name implies.. it's D I Y.. many ways to sucure it. Use a little bit of imagination and creativeness.
