Danio Zebras' effect on shrimps

I just got a few Danios Zebras and introduced them into my 1.5ft tanks which houses Sakura Shrimps and Neon Tetras.
Ever since i put the Zebras into the tank, due to their activeness and fast swimming, it had caused my shrimps to go into hiding inside the moss.
The shrimps dare not come out to the open as before due to the disturbance of the Danio Zebras.

I've since taken the Danio Zebras out of my tank. Immediately, i see my shrimps starting to come out of hiding to "play" in the open. Back to normal business, finally.

The above information is just for people who is currently rearing shrimps and thought of putting Danios Zebra into the same tank.

heheh thanks for the heads up. i'm still very curious to know if boraras merahs/brigittae can be kept with shrimps with the intention of breeding shrimps. i have heard accounts that they do not pick on shrimplets, but would like to hear more views

till i am 101% sure they are ok, i won't be adding them into my shrimp tank. i just thought it would be nicer that the boraras command the middle and top of the tank while the shrimps do the bottom.

boraras merahs is those small fishes right? Just slightly smaller than Neon Tetras...
My friend have them with shrimps inside...don't seem to have any problems with their coexistence.
However, the "lao jiaos" please correct me if i'm wrong.

I also want to know what fishes are able to live together with the shrimps yet not causing the shrimps to be frightened and hiding in the cover all the time.

Zebra danios are larger than shrimps and very boisterous, so they tend to chase and scare most smaller fauna (including other smaller fishes) into hiding.

I've had boraras brigittae (aka chili rasboras) for a while in my shrimp tank before and they are okay with shrimps. The shrimps don't seem to be afraid of them... most adult shrimps are actually larger than those tiny fishes and snatch food away from them.

But even though they are small, they still do hunt and pick at shrimplets, so if you are planning to increase the shrimp population by breeding them, its still best not to have any fishes at all with them to maximize shrimplet survivability.

You could also consider Otos too, they are larger but usually okay with shrimps.

Yup, i do have 3 Ottos in my tank currently. What about Danio Galaxy and Danio Leopard ( sorry i not sure what's their actual names)? Are they shrimp friendly?

From my experience, Danio Margaritatus and Danio Tinwini are okay with adult shrimps, i've had them both with shrimps without issues, but they can still go for smaller shrimplets if given the opportunity.

Note that Danio Tinwini are very active fast swimmers and excellent jumpers, you need to have a cover over the tank or else you'll find them on the floor very often.

I guess it could be the hyper activity of certain fishes... and certainly the relative size of the fishes do play a part too, shrimps are after all at the bottom of the food chain and they are fully aware of it.

Danio Margaritatus and Tinwini stay small, usually max 2-3cm (about the same as adult cherry shrimps)... Zebra danios usually grow to double that size up to around 5-6cm.

Btw, there is also another variant that is sometimes labelled as "leopard" danio, which is actually Danio Frankei, those look abit like Danio Tinwini but instead grow larger to around 5-6cm too.
