Will Tylomelania Snail Leech (Glossiphonia sp.) hurt Shrimp?

Hi all - I purchased two Tylomelania Orange Rabbit Snails over the weekend at a LFS and brought them home and put them in my tank with my CRS shrimp. The next morning, I got up and there was a brown worm like creature crawling up the side of the glass on the tank. I smooshed it and it fell to the bottom onto the black substrate where I could no longer see it. I immediately took the Rabbit Snails out and put them into another empty but cycled tank. Now researching, it appears that Rabbit Snails are notorious for having leeches - I am so grossed out, you have no idea.

My question - if any of these things are remaining in my CRS tank, will they hurt my CRS or their babies?

I understand that you can treat the Rabbit Snails with salt dips to rid them of the leeches, but my concern right now is for my shrimp and the babies I have.

Any help or education on this will help.

I don`t think ur rabbit snail(high pH) will do well with your CRS(low pH)...but yea most leech can`t be a huge problem to your shrimp, but i maybe wrong

Will Tylomelania Snail Leech (Glossiphonia sp.) hurt Shrimp?

Tylo snails have two kinds of parasites. One is a black colored leech that is just a very tiny and the other is an orange colored parasite with "arms" and looks a little like a squid. As far as I know the two don't attack shrimp and rarely stray from the snails. Other stuff such as planaria and hydra can hitchhike on the snails as well and these two aren't exactly safe to have in your tank either. Do take a closer look in case it's either of these two, they can be quite an infestation in shrimp tanks. I wouldn't bother if either of the snail parasites are inside the tank without snails though, doubt they can survive.
