    Re: The 2 surviving fighters

After 2 weeks of patient waiting, there is a second batch of fry. Its from a different pair this time. The fry are currently residing in a huge 2ft tank with the parents. Unfortunately, due to the messiness of the 2 ft tank (i have not cleaned or did a water change in the tank for a few months) there is a really thick layer of muck at the bottom of the tank and the whole tank is filled with algae. Thus, im planning to leave the fry in the tank with the parents for maybe a week, and take them out only when they get bigger. From what i see, there are at least 2 fry from this batch.

That's very good. Did you bought your fishes from Y618? I got a trio recently but I still couldn't tell clearly if there's a breeding pair in it. They didn't do too well and spend most of their time hiding behind the filters in their respective tanks.

The parents may eat the fry. I'd recommend fishing the fry out as and when you see them! haha

Here's an update on the first batch of fry.

For the second batch, i have removed the parents from the 2ft tank, so the fry have the whole tank to themselves. I guess they should be able to survive on the infusoria in the tank for the first few days.

    Re: The 2 surviving fighters

The 1stbatch of fry look healthy! Might want to fish out the 2nd batch soon into a smaller tank so that they'll be easier to feed and observe and cleam. I usually do that for my free swimming fry about 2-3 days after they are free swimming. Then use snails to clean up the small grow out tank. This severely reduces casualties.
