It depend on what kind of plants you are keeping.
With the depth of two feet, light penetration to the base might not be sufficient.
So i my advise is you need to plan what kind of plants you are keeping.
4x2x2 , 120 gallon. lighting fixture is 8 cm above the tank.
using 2x54W t5ho with parabolic reflector for each tube. D&D giesemann powerchrome and midday. trying to carpet dwarf hairgrass. Am using pressurized co2 too. is the lighting enough ? or do i have to add 1 or 2 more tube ?

hii. my main priority now is to carpet the tank with dhg. I've read that dhg requires high light to carpet ? If not it will grow vertically instead of horizontally![]()
2x54W will be <1watt/gallon
(low lighting)
I dont have nice experience with HG,
but my 4ft using 4x54w for my HC, just to make sure they grow horizontally
What tank for lazy man?
seems like i have to get another 2 tube then

Your individual parabolic reflector might giving a good PAR value, it depends on its material quality. 2 bulbs are giving good spread for 8 cm above the tank.
Although Mine is 4 bulbs, 11 inches from water surface. Success to make glosso pearling

im not sure of the quality from my parabolic reflector though. will just get another 2 tube more to see if theres improvement![]()
Agree. 2 tubes is not enough for sure for the plants that you have on mind. At least 2 more tubes will be needed and remember to change the tube every 6-9months.
