Microswords are heaps rarer than e.tenullus. What you will find in our fish shops are most likely e.tenullus.

mirco swords have slightly wavy/curly leaves and they grow from nodes(?) on the leaf one leaf can have several leaves(?), they are also thinner than e.tenellus leaves, which grow from a collective base at the root of the plant, and from what i see micro swords slightly darker green than tenellus(my tenellus is light, bright green, microswords deeper green), tenellus also looks more like grass.

microswords usually sold in those plastic foldable containers(at seaview) while tenellus is sold planted in the black plastic pot

and microsword grows taller than e. tenellus

haha sorry if im bad at explaining, you can always google

That's actually really really helpful. I did go down to Seaview yesterday morning and i do remember some plastic containers (eg. for kueh/sushi one) having some grass looking plants inside.

I'll try to look for those kind in west area, google really isn't much help especially for someone like me who ain't that observant when it comes to differentiating stuff like this...

To me they just looked the same online (pardon my ignorance).

On another note.. I think i'll tour around LFSs again this weekend for my foreground plants. Let me know if anyone here sights anything that would be nice to use!! Thank you!

you can see the difference between the two... blank bubble is microswords

    e. tenellus grows really fast, microswords take ages to grow with no co2 or ferts

my all time favourite is the hairgrass.. the moment they settle down, their runners will run..... for the start you will not notice their spread. but once they start its like spread by 10X. and after mature, the whole patch will get pretty dense...
