Question about using carbons

1)Does it reduce TDS?2)possible to place it where ever there`s current flow?3)what does and does it not attract and lock(nitrate,nitrite etc)4)does it have any negative impact to the tank?5)Other then baking the carbon at 1000+degree under high pressure, any other way to reuse them?6)What will it leak and what water parameters will it affect?
