When buying used CO2 tanks, do we need to be concern about the manufacture or last hydrostatic test date?
Do our LFS care about the dates when we send them for refill? Normally a tank will have a due date of 5 years before it is to be re-tested. Is our LFS checking on this?

the company who refill the CO2 will care. Get the one from NA, one to one exchange, lifetime warranty.
But im in tampines. NA is not convenient for me. So so farr lol..
I stay in hougang but i am also using NA tank. Better to travel around than to be struck with a tank and need to buy one right. Seaview have one to one exchange too but not too sure with regards to the life time warranty.

CO2 cylinder should be sent for hydrostatic testing once every 5 years. however, for aquarist use, the cylinder is not subjected to frequent compression and decompression cycles. so it will take much longer for before any signs of failure will be detected through testing. even with this reasoning, it is highly recommended that testing be done to ensure that the cylinder is safe to use.
industrial gas suppliers will check for test date and will not refill if the hydrostatic testing is overdue.

if you stay in tampines, can consider K & K aquarium in tampines also do one to one if you buy their tank.
Refill is a bit expensive thou for 5litres tank is $25.
@marco-Im staying at Tampines but i never top up at K & K
i usually go to Kohaku Aquarium at bedok

Robert, I got my 3.5L cylinder from NA quite some years ago. They still take old cylinders for the 1 to 1 exchange?
Fish.. Simply Irresistable

Yes should be and I dont think they can differentiate inew or old. I mean the tank look the same 5 years ago and today, black and silver with NA written on the knob on some.
I just realised I threw away the old cylinder..
Oh well, not doing any planted setups for now.

I have direct bus from my place, I put in the long bag so that no body know what inside. Just don't want to make unnecessary attention
i take bus no. 18 stop across the street from the shop.
i used that recycle clothe bag, they have the deep ones that fits nicely.
Most of the time i take the taxi back![]()
My bag is slim an long, used for light stand, can fit 5L CO2 without problem. No different carrying vertical or horizontal but since my bag is long, I carry vertical
I used vertical bag.
Like shadow say,it makes no different if you are carrying it vertical or horizontal
as long as you dont use it horizontally.
Before you go there you should call i ask first
for more details.
erm.. Before bringing to NA for 1 to 1 exchange , do we have to remove the regulator or will they do it for us ?![]()
