    HELP!!

    CF card not readable.

Wonder if anyone got this problem.
I took a CF card (CF64 copact flash Digicard) that was used in a nikon coolpix and put it in my canon s45. I then delete all images inside and proceed to shoot avi and jpgs. It worked perfectly. I can even preview it a few times. After I turn off my camera and turn it about an hour later, it still worked. After about 4 hours, i turn it on again and this time got problem.

The camera cannot power up and keeps reading the card. nothing can be previewed and pictures cannot be taken. the camera just stall. I put it back in the nikon and got the same thing happen. The nikon also displayed CF card error.

I then put it in a card reader and try to use my PC to read. ALso cannot, the reader has a green light to indicate ready and functioning. This green light turns on and i can access everything when i use my canon CF card which is fine. I then put in the Digicard and the green light went off and never turned on again. I tried using several recovery software but all of them told me the CF drive is not ready.

Anyone can help? I have very important Pics inside. Actually don't mind paying a reasonable price if someone can help me retrieve what is in the CF card.

Most likely your CF card is corrupted (and yes it does happen to all types of cards). Re-formating it should solve the problem and you can use it again. However, the data in it will be losted.

For data recovery, you can use this...

    Imagerescue 2.0 by Lexar

    Cost only S$40.

    More details here.

    Good luck!!

    Cheers,

Wow, that's costly. Never expect it to come at that cost, I got mine free when I bought my 1Gb Lexar CF card. You might wanna pass me your card to test. I will only be around on Sunday.
