Advice for moving shrimp tank

Hi, I am moving my house in 2 weeks and I am lost as to how to move my 2ft CRS tank to the new house without affecting the life expectancy of my shrimps.
Anyone has previous experience?

Hi, I am facing the same situation as you when I moved to my new place in last November 2012.

What I did is I setup a new tank at my new place in advance and let the tank cycled then I move my shrimps over.

Another way which is a bit more risky is to move your shrimps to a temporary big container with water from your existing tank and with proper filter running in your container. Since it is a bit harder to maintain the pH value of the water in the container, you might want to use Borneowild humic to maintain the pH value. Also remember to aerate the water in the container.

No other ways, sell or house your shrimps if you have friends rearing shrimps also and restart again

For those waiting for a solution, here is what I just did:
1. Empty 2/3 the water from the tank, keeping everything else in the tank, shrimps, snails, et al.
2. Enlist my wife's help to transfer tank into car. A trolley will be very useful.
3. Set the air condition in the car to maximum and drive very slowly, especially over humps and bends.
4. Drop by at NTUC to buy two 12-bottle cartons of LIFE distilled water.
5. Once home, place some bottles into the fridge first to have some cold water ready to top up tank.

Took me all of 2.5hrs to complete the whole moving process.

No cheetf, I did not. That's why I had to drive below 40km/hr. Fortunately it was a short 15mins journey.

There's CRS, Yamato, sakura and pearl blue shrimps in the tank.
