Currently i got 3 albino senegal bichir, 5 glass catfish, 3 female guppy, 3 neon tetra and a albino xommon pleco, im thinking of aquascaping the tank, any suggestions on what to do with the fishes and stuff?

Thinking of doing a moss tank, let it establish before adding ghost shrimps (because i love shrimps) to breed and also be the food of my new fishin future

Planning to give everything away, but cant post in market place, lol ( this isnt a spam to hit 10 post) but more of getting opinions to see if i should keep the fishes while i reset the tank

    Re: Restarting tank

    Hi,

Get a extra tank or a pail with the existing water and add air pump. it will do fine as a temporary measure while you rescape. Fish are more hardy and can be introduced back sooner.
Consolidate what you want to say instead of posting every 2 minutes, it is not a spam it is still post clocking.

i have merged the 3 posts as one due to post clocking, and this is also a warning.

    Re: Restarting tank

I've thought of that before, but house no more space for rack or another tank, thinking of giving them away instead. Just wondering if anyone can post in market place on my behalf?

ps: didnt know its an offence, or know its post clocking, iI'll bear that in mind in future ^^

I suggest you quit the hobby if you think setting free in the drain is a good way to get rid of them just because you feel like rescaping your tank.

well, what else can i do? i really dont have space for another tank, im not allowed to give away or even post at marketplace, nobody wants them (Real life friends). I even approached LFS to see if i can "rent" a space for a month or two, but got rejected as well.

make the effort to be active in the forum, gain access to marketplace. Post in marketplace and find a suitable owner for them before rescaping.

    Restarting tank

Hi, i did rescaping before. You do not have to get rid of your fishes.

Firstly just get a temporary small tank (Tank A). Full it up with water from your current tank and then transfer your fish to the temporary tank. Also bring your filter from your tank to Tank A to let the water continue running.

Subsequently, drain out the rest of your tank water into another clean pail(Pail B) and then you can redo your scape.

Once you are done with your scaping, refill your tank with water from Pail B. Bring back your filter into the tank and let the cloud die down. You should then wait for a few hours so that the cloud will die down and also the ammonia level will go back to normal.

Lastly, transfer your fishes and water from Tank A back to your tank. And you are done!

Just do not think of just throwing your fishes away like that. Not very good you know...

I did try that previously, and i suffered a heavy casualty (fully drain water, transferred fishy to a pail while i fix some gravel issues because its too sharp and keep cutting my fishes), after all is done, water cleared and filter running, i added the fish back, most died

Never tell the lfs to give them instead? better then waiting for access to marketplace.
Throwing fish in drain, i think is not very right.

BTW, Some hobbyist will cull their livestock then to give them away.

    Restarting tank

Like Felix said, why not house them temporary in a pail first. It would not take up much space.

    Re: Restarting tank

At FrozenDuck, throwing fishes away in a drain is not the way to go.
Take the advise of Felix and lionelcgk. Rescaping a tank will not take you a month or two,
It is just an excuse for you to dump those fishes away and start afresh. That shouldn't be the way.
How difficult it is to house 3 albino senegal bichir, 5 glass catfish, 3 female guppy, 3 neon tetra and a albino common pleco temporarily.
    Make an effort!

    Re: Restarting tank

by the way, you wont be able to breed ghost shrimps in freshwater tank too.

    do more research.
