y not keep it as spare for your 918 (if the parts can use la)?
Hi pple
I jus killed my Jebao 915.....![]()
Was changing water before dinner time.... actually jus intend to replace bout 10%... however, while draining water mama tok to me... by the time remember... water level had gone lower than the surface skimmer n the water flow had stopped.... immediately pulled plug to stop filter....
after refilling... plug in filter... no water flow... no motor sound... feel no motor movement.... AHHHHHHHHH....!!!!!!!!
PANIC....!!!!... wat happen??? open filter... check everything okay.... no blockage... nothing in impeller.... finally concluded.... must be cos no water flow... motor overheat and died....
immediately went nearest LFS and got another filter... was contemplating on an EHEIM.... but reach there... price of it still so ex.... eventually bought a JEBO 819.... came back... transfer filter media from 915 to new 819.... jus finish cleaning up everything...
so now the question is.... Try to repair the 915 for the next contingency??? but new 915 now selling onli $50 plus... worth repairing meh???
Any guys here know where can get it repair?? or at least get a quotation???
If not... any guys here who wants any parts or accessories of a Jebao 915, jus PM me n let me kno... cos feel it's such a waste to throw the whole thing away.....

i assume u refering keeping fer the Jebo 819.... diff brand lar... not compatible... the trays r different size... so are the connectors... only the drain piping same... but the piping easily available in most LFS.... so no point keeping...
btw... Jebo canisters has a special inlet for filling water to max to allow auto priming.... tink had accidentally turned too hard n broke the latch... left it running fer whole nite but found no leakage this morning... tink due to the gasket... strong enuff to hold the pressure... will try to see can get the replacement.... sometimes all tis china-make things are really a bit low in quality... but due to low price... bopian lar.... :P
say it can last fer a year (wich the Jebao 915 did)... at the price of $50 ~ $60.... can get a new pc every year for bout 5 years as compared to a $300 Eheim... imagine running the cheapo fer one year... just salvage the media, throw away everything n get a new (n maybe latest model with added features. Fyi, the Jebo 819 has 5 trays n comes equipped with wool, carbon n 2 diff sizes of ceramic rings - in another words... PLUG N PLAY..!!!) pc without the hassle of cleaning.... hahaha... sounds logical???
Just another stupid idea......![]()
how long did the filter run 'dry'?
was the filter motor casing very hot when you 'remember' what you were doing?

hmmm.... must have been bout 10 mins.... i did not touch the casing immediately... as mentioned... i unplugged the filter when i saw tt the water flow had stopped... i didn't notice whether the motor was running then... onli upon plugging in the filter after the topping up then i realised that the motor wasn't running.... but the casing was slightly hotter than another 915 tt was running on another tank... tt's why i concluded tt it had burnt itself out....
hi, just wondering if JEBO and JEBAO same company ? anyone knows .. thanks
Wow... I didn't know there was a Jebo and a Jebao until today...thought that they were the same...

See http://www.jebao.com/english/introduce.php
and http://www.jebo.com.cn
Was told that Jebo's products are of lower quality.

interesting, i thght it was the other way around. saw that jebo is widely sold in US but not jebao.
just to add....currently runnning a Jebo 838 for more than 1.5 years....so far no problem at all... supposed to be of low quality, but very cheap....
I am not undermining the quality and efficiency of Eheim or JBL etc etc, but Jebo offers value for money....so far for me...![]()
I'm running dual Jebao 918s now, so far so good but contemplating on getting a Eheim professional III series...
Jebao filters are ok only... can't comment on Jebo, but looks the same to me...
