Bought this at Yun Feng Tampines. Looks suspiciously like a type of rainbowfish but I am definitely not sure. Could anyone help with the identification? Much appreciated. Thank you guys!

Nope, i dont think its a rainbowfish. It should be Oryzias Latipes.

    Re: Identification Help

Thanks Lucasjiang! I had a feeling it wasn't a rainbowfish as I troughed through the Internet last night. I suspected that it was a type of killifish but just couldn't find out which particular one. I think you identified correctly. Thanks again!

Not Oryzias latipes, but a young Oryzias woworae, probably female. The markings are distinctive of female woworae. They are not killifish but related closer to halfbeaks and flying fish.

    Re: Identification Help

I'm not an expert, so I'm not sure who's right. One thing for sure, it's not a type of rainbowfish. They seem to be peaceful and a good combination with my gertrudaes & furcatas.

    Re: Identification Help

Have you guys seen any males O. woworae before? They are such lovelies, would love to have a few to complement the females I already have.
