Just had a thought. Would using Seachem Excel as a start followed by pressurised CO2 be more effective in starting an algae free tank?

Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Followed means, in subsequence future phase or immediate follow?
As long the tank water flow could distribute the co2 to all over area, it's should be put some algae varieties at the bay.

it doesn't mean co2 is a remedy from algae.

Sometime problem occurs not just due to filter performance, you should careful with hardscape, your rainbar/ lily/etc position, plant positioning, and plant varieties. Avoid something that could block your flow path, or screwed its way.

algae always take benefit from location/area that are steady/no movement and limited to certain parameter.

Re: Seachem excel vs. pressurised CO2 for start up tanks.

What I mean is to start the tank growing with the use of Excel as it has some algae killing properties. Therefore the hope is to reduce the types of algae in the tank. Subsequently once the growth is established then continue with pressurised CO2.
