you can check with lfs that offers co2 refill service.
their co2 refiller should be able to change the main valve.
[quote:a9842a043f="weng0202"]Hi all!
I was turning off my CO2 cylinder and turned it too tight. The screw snapped and I'm not able to turn it on again. Anyone knows who I can turn to fix this? If not, how do I dispose of the cylinder? thanks.[/quote:a9842a043f]
u said the screw snapped... was it the part of the main valve or the knob thing at the top???
Hi!
Thanks for the responses so far! Its the main valve that is on the tank that snapped. It didn't come off, just that I can't turn it on or off now. I asked the lfs near my place but they couldn't help.![]()

Thanks for the fishes, they are in quarantine at the moment. Will be transferring them to proper accommodation soon.
Have you got the replacement part for the CO2 tank? Should be able to find that part in hardware shops that carry plumbing/water taps items.
The problem is not as serious as it sounded.

Hi!
No problem...I've been rather busy of late so will be looking for it next week when I've less to do. Hope the fishes are okay. They have been with me for at least half a year so shouldn't have any disease. Thanks.
Cheers![]()
The damaged portion is made of plastic and had cracked as such will not grip the valve stem when turned. I checked a hardware store at Blk 41 Holland Drive (Painter's); an equivalent part called "tap key" @ $3.50 will serve as a substitute. But bring along the damaged part or the tank to get a suitably sized tap key as there are several different sizes available.
Hi Weng
One of my CO2 had the same damage too... the black plastic knob cracked thus lost it's grip... wat i did was removed the knob and applied a compound called 'plastic steel' to it... thereafter filed the opening to fit back to the thread (actually not done by me personally... my collegues in the workshop did it fer me... i witnessed onli....i not so technically inclined....)
the 'plastic steel' compound can be bought fr major hardware shop or supermarket... normally comes in two solution to be mixed before applying...
