Hi bros, just wondering if you guys can suggest what are the brands of canister filter(china-made ones) and lighting that is the best of its class.

Currently i'm looking at UP brand canister filter, Up external 1200 and Beamswork evo led 24. As for lighting, i'm still skeptical about the growth of plants using leds.

    My tank dimension is 2*1.5*1.5ft.
Budget for canister filter about $100, lighting:$120-$160

    hi guo,

not many folks i know using evo24 on 1.5ft tall tank.

thats the higher model in that series? sorry, on mobile now. lazy to confirm.

if to my memory, some bros have decent results with that.

    Hi Felix,
I think its the newest model, the leds are 3w each. I'm still thinking if i should get led lighting as the height of the tank is quite high.

It should be ok, by right. Since other bros using 3w led based sets on 3 footers that are 1.5ft tall (i also just change LED, try try).
Worried that you bought the lower output one wrongly. Since you also know their looks are same.

Thanks for the concern bro! 3w per led is actually quite strong enough. Just thinking if it has the spectrum needed for plant growth. Try try, pocket big hole le...hahahaha. ..
How's the result of the plant growth so far?

You mean the spread of the light or growth of plants?

I am using the green element evo 3w per led series too. Similar to this beamworks evo I think. I use it on my 34cm height tank and find the light are very concentrated too. End up I raise the light by another 15cm and the lights are pretty well distributed around the tank.
