I have a 100cm tank of about 220 litres in volume and it came with a default of 3*30W tubes = 90W of light. This is not enough i suppose and i would like to ask for the recommended wattage for a tank this size. My friend suggested changing to 6 x 36W PL but i was wondering if there are alternatives... i would rather simply add more lights then do a modification.

    Thanks!

3x30W FL is good enough for low light plants
maybe add 1 or more 30W FL depending on the type of plants

I would suggest adding at least another 2X36W light. My tank also 100cm tank that came with 2X30W lighting hood. Added 4X36W light (DIY). Very happy with the results.
    Cheers!!
