    Hello all members

I think this is my first posting since i joined. Most of the time i just browsed this forum for additional knowledge for my planted tank.

Bought a JBJ solenoid from C328(used about 1.5months). Recently, the pressure guage(both) reading is having problem.

When the co2 is ON for around 2-3 hours, the metre reading will slowing goes to "0"(both guages) BUT than when the co2 set is OFF, it will slowly goes back to reading of about 50 & 3 respectively.

Called the guy in C328(don't whether is the boss or not) about my problem & he seemed that can't do anything saying that there is no guarantee(but i heard JBJ has 6 months warranty?).

May i know whether anyone encounter this problem & how can i solve it?

There is no leaking, I am sure the tank is at least 3/4 full as it is new & i only used 1-2 bubbles per second, 8-9 hours a day.

another question, do you guys turn ON the main control from your co2 tank fully? Is there any complication if to turn ON fully or just a little to allow co2 gas to be released?

    thanks

On my Dennerle, the main reading is 50 bar and the second is below 1 bar.

Another one main reading is 70 and the outer is 3.(psi) constantly no change in meter reading when on/off.

Outer gauge will drop a little but not many due to reducing pressure.

Also did not turn the main control fully but once a while when notice a drop in main gauge pressure I turn anti-clockwise to maintain the pressure.

I notice for the dennerle I have to do it more often and latetly found a leak in the joint.

    Hope it help you.

    adrian,

I think there is nothing wrong with the gauges. They are robust and reliable if they are not subject to strong knock or drop.

I have strong suspicion that the cylinder's main valve is not open wide enough. Try turning it out about 3/4~1 turn. There is no harm opening the valve fully. However, my practice is to turn out about 1/2 turn, just about right to provide enough pressure. Having said that, the amount of turn varies from tank to tank.

Try and let us know the result.

    Hi Adrain,

I am using a JBJ pressure gauge as well. The reading seems to be erratic as well. So for my practises, if it goes to zero, i'll just shut the valve, give the regulator a little tap, then open the valve again. If it still at zero, then i'll check whether if the CO2 has depleted.

Sure freddy, I will try your suggestion & post an update as soon as i see the result.

Anyway, someone actually advised me to try turning the co2 main valve more. I think mine is only 1/4 opened.

    thanks

    hi Freddy & all

You are right, my main valve on the cylinder is not turn on fully or at least half turned. After turning it to half opened since saturday, both pressure gauges remain at constant reading.

will continue to monitor the situation for a few more days. Will post again if reading is problematic.....else everything is fine.

    thanks for all infomation....

    cheers
