If your not in a hurry to see results, most 1st few tries we all want to see fast results noticeable with the week but 2 x 24w T5 you may see results you want on week 3-4.
The background you add will grow faster.

btw, you making all-stars rojak tank already. HC+ glosso + HG. i find HC + a small bit of HG looks the best. Glosso creep slow on places where HC has matured. Real story i have now with trying HC + glosso.

    Re: Attempt 2

Not in hurry to see result just worry in the end no result or fail .

This is more like a practice and training tank for me as I still new to plant. Not sure what plant combination is best.

I want to make iwgumi style but will do that when I have more budget for rock and lily pipe.

As for Co2 I on 1bps through tout the day . will that be a problem ?

then, you can see how fast each of these plants grow under this lighting condition.

1bps is ok, but most people will try use solenoid and control using timer. save co2 and for some it maybe too risky for livestock when not in photoperiod

Yup, but my itchy finger want to get the UP pro Z led.

I also bought a CO2 tank with solenoid but need to top up .. currently still no fish inside tank . fishless cycle . . Many fish has died and make me realise how important water cycle are ..

Will post update pic later when I end work.

    Day 8

HC not growing much at least not dying.. Glosso growing upward. Discover my rock has some kind of brown/black stuff covering it . can be remove by siphoning with tube though.

    Re: Attempt 2

Glosso growing upwards... clear sign it is reaching for better source.
HC might be stunted, the last time i used 2 x t5 my HC in that tank never spread never die also & that went on for months ...

I see, so what I can do now is improve lighting or increase the height of the soil? I just order a pro z LED. Will see how it goes.

    Re: Attempt 2

Bros , I got question . I off my filter today and won't be back for a day . but I recall reading somewhere on web saying that the bio media will restart because the BB will die off due to lack of oxygen or something like that. Is that true ? I couldn't recall where I read that article.

    Re: Attempt 2

I have 3 suggestions, for your consideration.

    1. remove the light stands and put the light on the tank glass
this will reduce the distance between light source and HC. not much in absolute terms but it might help the glosso.
    2. move either the output of the filter or the position of the diffuser, such that the output from the filter disrupts the CO2 bubbles.. swirling it around if possible.
this will help better CO2 dissolution.
    3. point the output of the filter 35-45 degrees downwards. reducing water ripples.
this will help retain more dissolved CO2 in the water.

    my 2 cents.

Thanks for the advice . can't do 1 because my tank is rimless . My outlet is directly pointing at my diffuser. I had ordered a UP Pro Z Led . still on its way, hope it will improve the growth.

hard to find nice rocks in singapore, if you find nice rocks, hard to part with the money you'd be paying for them.
