As for planted tank, the longer the duration and intensity of light, the more C02 you require. If C02 deficient occurs, you might get algae outbreak. The flipside, if you overdose C02, your shrimps will suffocate.

How much photo period and C02 ? It depends, you need to experiment the sweet spot for your tank. If your lighting is not intense, a single 8-10hrs of photo period should be ok. Having a 2-4hrs lights out in between the photo period
should be ok if your lighting is intense.

Ultimately, your fissidens, pelia and any others plants will tell you if you need more light period and C02.

    Re: Photoperiod & CO2 Injection

Just to add... the split photo period method (ie. siesta regimen) is mainly for non-Co2 injected tanks. The rest period is meant to allow the limited Co2 in the water to gradually "replenish" naturally inbetween shifts.

For a Co2 injected tank, the split photo period is not necessary as there is already ample Co2 already added, so its better to just run a single long photo period.
