Lovely clear pics, not sure at all about the Cichlid and the Barbatus looks somehow wrong.

not a barbatus, its actually a kronei (scleromystax)

Same thoughts here, more Kronei than Barbatus.
I did hear recently that someone had intentionally bred Barbatus with Kronei so we will have yet another Hybrid to kill off soon, man I hate hybrids.

actually there's nothing wrong with hybridisation, its just one of the evolutionary marvels of sex. *the point of sex is to share/assimilate genes from other creatures, usually of the same species"

the problem with hybridisation is when selection of traits goes too far *again another point of debate*, the entire Luohan thing was because of selection of "hump" size, aggresion for the sake of superstition.

its probable that what we differentiate by "specific names" today, are probably nothing more than hybrids of yesteryear in nature.
